Baby Shambles

The critics are already raging over the new Pete Doherty CD, the front man for the group Baby Shambles. Doherty, the bad boy of British Rock n' Roll, wrote some of the new album “Shotter’s Nation”, with his girl friend, super model Kate Moss. Doherty also had a hand in the design of the album, and chose one of my "Hoser Cam" shots for the front cover. The cd is already on the road to being a top seller; released by EMI.

Hello!

Check out the October 22, 2007 issue of Hello! Canada. I did a portrait a few weeks back of Edmonton Oiler hockey star Sheldon Souray, named one of Canada's hottest bachelors. And yes, he looks better in real life than on the printed page, it has been my assistant Carla's favorite assignment so far.

Candian Cowboy Country

Got to work with George Canyon, the country singer this summer. George is a great singer, player who has been on the country charts for the past couple of years. We had a great shoot at his little ranch in Alberta and the results are on the cover of this months Canadian Cowboy Country magazine. I look forward to shooting with him again.

Boreal Forest

Listen to CBC radio at noon today in Manitoba or look for a podcast of their noon hour show. I was interviewed about the Boreal Forest project I worked on this summer with my good friend and editor A.P Hovasse. A handful of photographers flew in a small Cessna 182 by Phil, a great pilot, sailor and all around good guy. He flew photographers across Canada shooting aerial photos of one of our nation's treasures, the Boreal Forest. A.P. put together a great crew of photographers, then did a wonderful job of editing the thousands of photos down to a handful that were made into gigantic prints and are now on display in Montreal and Winnipeg. I hear the shows look fantastic, and I was very happy to work with this very talented group of photographers. They include, Andy Clark, Allen McInnis, Dan Riedlhuber, Jeff Bassett, Jim Ross, John Woods, Kazuyoshi Ehara and Phillip Wilmer.

NASCAR

After a super busy July, shooting the Grand Prix of Edmonton, the World Under 20 soccer championships, a couple of news stories and traveling with the Prime Minister for a week, I have a second to catch my breath. That is after I just finished shopping for a few things I need for a 3 week assignment in Japan, which I leave for in a week. As I sit and watch the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen this week, just wanted to show you my latest double truck, a story on NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne for ATV Sport magazine. It was a super nice layout they did, check them out on the news stand or online.

Sports Illustrated

Good news when you come home from a week away in the Canadian North. I got the cover of the Sports Illustrated Summer Double issue, on news stands now. Check it out online and on the stand. If you get the magazine there is a great series of portraits Al Tielemans shot, he's a great guy and a fantastic photographer.

Richard Renaldi

Been on the road for almost 2 weeks working on various assignments, one of which is going to be an exhibition and book on the boreal forest. The bad thing about being on the road is being away from my family, one of the good things is having a bit of down time to actually look at web sites, read and listen to new music in the rental car; 4000 kilometers in 5 days. One of the photographers I discovered on the road is Richard Renaldi. I am really digging his work from the West, and all of his other projects as well. Here is one of my favorite photos of his, check out the rest on his web site.

Kelsie

Well stock production has started up again at the studio now that Kelsie, pictured, will now be coming in a couple of times a week to help with editing, and assisting. She has been working hard and is a huge addition to my work flow. I am a much happier person already.

Steve Fisher

This spring I had the great pleasure of working on Steve Fisher's new CD, "River". It's a fantastic body of new work by Steve with some of the great bluegrass and roots players that are working today. Steve is playing in Calgary Friday June 8, 2007. Check out his web site and his music, Steve is one of the good guys.

Aurora Select

We have just created a new assignment agency in New York City, Aurora Select, which I will be a member of and getting assignments through them, check them and my online portfolio out on the web.
